Minimum Admission Requirement: 0.24413
Eligibility: A candidate for being eligible for admission to the M.Sc. degree Course in the branches other than the branches of Molecular Biology, Computer Science, Biochemistry, Biophysics and Fisheries Management must have passed :-
a) the B.Sc. (three year integrated course) degree examination of this University with at Least seven units (i.e. the minimum required for majoring in a subject) in that subject which he wants to offer for the M.Sc. degree course.
(b) the B.Sc. (Old four-year course) degree examination of this University.
Or
© an examination of another University recognised as equivalent thereto.
Candidates who have passed the B.Sc. (old four-year course) degree examination of this University (or an examination of another University recognised as equivalent thereto with the following combinations of subjects will be eligible for admission to the M.Sc. degree course in the branches of (i) Molecular Biology and (ii) Computer Science. (iii) Molecular Biology
The candidate must have passed the B.Sc. (Old course)degree examination with one of the following as the Principal subject :-
Chemistry
Biochemistry
Physics
Mathematics
Botany
Zoology
Microbiology
Any other branch of Biology
ii) Computer Science
The candidate must have passed the B.Sc.(Old course) degree examination with following combination of subjects:-
Principal Subsidiary
Mathematics (Revised Course)
or
Physics Mathematics
or
Statistics Mathematics
or
COMPUTER SCIENCE
The Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree examination candidates who have passed the B.Sc. (three-year integrated course: degree examination of this University (or an examination of this University (or an examination of another University recognised as equivalent thereto with the following combination of subjects will be eligible for admission to the M.Sc. degree course in the branches of (1) Molecular Biology, (2) Computer Science, (3) Biochemistry (4) Biophysics.
(1) Molecular Biology
Candidates must have passed the B.Sc. degree (three-year integrated course) examination with any of the following subject as a major subject i.e. with at atleast 7 Units:-
i) Chemistry
ii) Biochemistry
iii) Physics
iv) Mathematics
v) Botany
vi) Zoology
vii) Microbiology
viii) Any other branch of Biology
ix) Life Sciences.
The candidate must have passed the B.Sc. degree (three year integrated course) examination with the following combination of subjects :-
Major Ancillary
Mathematics
OR
Physics
Mathematics (4 Units)
OR
Statistics
Mathematics (4 Units)
OR
The Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree examination.
(3) Biochemistry
The candidate must have passed the B.Sc. degree (three year integrated course) examination or the B.Sc. degree (Old course) examination with the following combination of subject :- With Chemistry as Principal subject
or
With Chemistry as the Major subject (10/11 units)
or
With Chemistry Major (minimum 7/8 units) and with Biochemistry (3 units)
or
With a minimum of 7 units in Chemistry and 7 units in any one of the Biological Sciences.
or
With a minimum of 4 units in Chemistry, 3 units in Bio-Chemistry and 7 Units in any one of the Biological Sciences
(4) Biophysics
The candidate must have passed the B.Sc. degree (three year integrated course examination with the following combination of subjects :-
Major Ancillary
Physics (7/8 units) Chemistry or Microbiology (4 units)
OR
Chemistry (7/8 units) Physics or Microbiology (4 units)
OR
Microbiology (7/8 unit) Chemistry or Physics (4 units)
OR
Physics or Chemistry or microbiology (7/8 units) with Biophysics (3 units) at T.Y.B.Sc.
(5) Fisheries Management
The candidate must have passed :-
The B.Sc. three year integrated degree course) examination of the University of Mumbai with at least 7 units (that is the minimum required for majoring in subject ) with the combination as stated below:-
7 Units in Zoology or Life Science or Botany or Microbiology plus two units in Chemistry.
OR
7 units in Chemistry or Statistics plus two units of a Biological Science.
OR
B
The B.Sc. (four year degree course) examination of the University of Mumbai With one of the following as the Principal subjects :-
1. Zoology
2. Botany
3. Chemistry
4. microbiology
provided the student has taken a Biological Science as Subsidiary subject with chemistry.
OR
C
An examination of another University recognised as equivalent to the B.Sc. degree examination of the University of Mumbai with any one Of the following subjects as Principal Subject viz. Zoology, Botany, Chemistry or any other branch Of Biology provided the student graduated in Chemistry has a Biological subject as the ancillary level,
OR
The B.F.Sc. (Bachelor of Fisheries sciences) of any recognised Indian University
